Introducing Dagster Labs

In the spirit of simplification, the company formerly known as Elementl is now doing business as Dagster Labs.

As of today, Elementl, the company behind the Dagster open-source project and Dagster+ commercial product, is changing its name to Dagster Labs.

When we launched the Dagster project, the future was wide open. We had a clear picture of the engineering challenge that we wanted to solve and initial ideas on how to go about solving it. What was less clear was how our team and company would need to evolve to support our mission.

We set out to build a company, not just a product. We set up Elementl to communicate that ambition. However, Dagster is the company’s sole product for the foreseeable future, and a company name separate from its sole product is a perpetual source of confusion.

In order to communicate this focus we have renamed the company to Dagster Labs.

With that said, nothing else is changing besides our company name, some branding, and our domain names. We are still continuing to execute against our master plan and serve our open source community and cloud customers.

Thanks for being on the journey with us.
